Watermelon Detox Diet – Lose Weight Healthy at Least 3 Pounds a Week

Rich in fiber and water, watermelon is real healthy summer enjoyment. Its composition provides a feeling of satiety and cleansing the body.

This fruit is friend of your waistline and helps in losing your excess pounds. It will make you feel full, and favorably affects the digestive system.

Besides watermelon is sweet, and it will help you cope with the chocolate and ice cream cravings.

I am not a fan of fast diets but i liked this one because it lasts maximum 2 weeks and in the diet menu you can find also another healthy foods that you eat so you can have a balanced meals.

All kind of detox diets should not last more then 2 weeks. Because everything that is exaggerated is not healthy or good.

CAUTION: Also i I can’t recommend this detox diet to everyone because some people who have diabetes or another health condition should contact first their doctor or nutritionist before they do any kind of detox.

IMPORTANT: When i say losing at least 3 pounds a week, we should have in mind that all people don’t have a same digestion system. Some can lose less pounds, some more. You also need vitamins and minerals that other foods contain. Eating only watermelon during the diet and starving yourself it is not healthy way to lose fat.

How You Should Start This Watermelon Detox Diet?

If you decide to detox yourself with watermelon, it is best to do it 9 to 13 days, not more then 2 weeks. You can also achieve it with a faster detox for 5 days. If you choose the long term plan, it will be developed in two phases.

In the first stage, which lasts 3 days you eat only watermelon. While in the second stage are added other foods, while watermelon is treated like a snack between meals. This stage is not as restrictive as first and can last from 6 to 10 days, and good news is that you have many foods to choose from.

Given that watermelon contains a lot of water, maybe you won’t need to drink plenty of water during the diet. If you are thirsty,drink plain water, but you don’t have to force yourself to drink large quantities of liquids.

However, even though watermelon is rich in nutrients and has few calories, it is rich in sugars. Therefore, during the diet you should combine watermelon with foods that have few carbohydrates like nuts, rye bread, lentils, apples, etc..

Once you are over with the diet, to maintain your weight, replace all juices with plain water or watermelon. You can even make frozen cubes of watermelon. Chop the watermelon into small pieces and freeze them. They will improve the taste of the water and will refresh you. With the help of watermelon you can reduce the size of the meals.

You should avoid to refrigerate the watermelon because it won’t be the healthiest that you will eat. Keep watermelon at room temperature before your meal.

New way to prepare salad

Add pieces of chopped watermelon cubes on the usual vegetable salad , a little mint and mozzarella chopped into pieces. Season with a few drops of balsamic vinegar.

After Workout

In a blender mix a 2 pounds of watermelon, without seeds, a cup of cold water and two tablespoons of lemon juice.

Experts don’t recommend fast diests. They say that the only reliable and long-term way to lose weight is a change in the eating habits.

Watermelon is an excellent food that should be eaten, but it is not recommended exaggerating in elimination of other nutritional foods

Eating few small meals throughout the day is the best way to reduce weight. With the meal eat a piece of watermelon, so you will faster feel satiety.

Watermelon Detox Diet Daily Menu

Here are 5 vegetable summer recipes that you can include them in this diet

Day 1

  • Breakfast: a slice of watermelon, one apple, a cup of coffee or green tea without sugar
  • Lunch: 150 g boiled beef, 150 g cooked brown rice, vegetable salad and watermelon slice
  • Dinner: 100g grilled fish, whole-grain bread slice, vegetable salad and watermelon slice

Day 2

  • Breakfast: watermelon slice, a cup of coffee or green tea without sugar
  • Lunch: 100 g boiled chicken breast, slice of whole wheat bread, vegetable salad and watermelon slice
  • Dinner: 100g grilled fish, 100 g cooked brown rice, vegetable salad and 2 slices of watermelon

Day 3 

  • Breakfast: watermelon slice, slice of toast, a cup of coffee or green tea without sugar
  • Lunch: 50 g of pasta with tomato sauce, 3 slices of watermelon
  • Dinner: vegetable salad seasoned with olive oil and herbs, unlimited amounts of watermelon

  • Breakfast: 2 slices of watermelon, an apple
  • Lunch: broccoli soup, slice of whole wheat bread, 2 slices of watermelon
  • Dinner: 3 medium-sized potatoes baked in the oven, vegetable salad and 2 slices of watermelon

Day 5

  • Breakfast: 3 slices of watermelon, an apple
  • Lunch: 150 g boiled beef, unlimited amounts of watermelon
  • Dinner: slice of whole wheat bread, 100 g of low-fat cow cheese, 3 slices of watermelon
