A Heart Attack Can Be Predicted Even Months Before: Your Hair Warns You, And Here’s How

Every change our body undergoes means something – even something as small as a change in your hair can be an indication of a serious disease.

If your hair contains high levels of the cortisol hormone, it may be an indication of a forthcoming heart attack! Recently, a team of Canadian scientists has been examining the effects of work, financial and marital problems on our health, and they came to the conclusion that there is a biological marker which could predict a heart attack a long time before it occurs! The levels of cortisone are usually measured with blood, urine and saliva tests, but the hair is different – as it grows at a fast rate, a 5-6-inch strand could show a longer period of increased stress levels. According to professors Gideon Koran and Stan van Mind from the University of Western Ontario, there were high levels of cortisol present in the subjects’ urine, blood and saliva samples for days and hours before the analysis eve began.

The study examined hair strands from 56 subjects who had a previous heart attack, and the results were compared to hair samples from men who didn’t suffer a heart attack, but had problems with other diseases.
