The plant that is used for producing tequila is named agave plant, and the sugar find in it is agavins. According to the study the sugar is non-digestible and that’s why like a dietary fiber acts.
This plant has the ability to lower the level of glucose.
According to Dr. Mercedes G. Lopez, one of the head researchers, while the agavins reduces the glucose level and increase *GLP-1, it also increases the amount of insulin.
*GLP-1 is a hormone that stimulates the production of insulin and slows down the emptying of the stomach.

He testing was done on lab mice.
