One of the most important factors which influence our overall well-being is our personal hygiene. That’s why we shower regularly and try to keep our body clean and germ free.
You’ll be surprised to find out that no matter how much we shower one body part can never get clean. It can even hold 67 different types of bacteria every day and it’s our dirtiest body part. Can you guess which one?
As we already mentioned we all shower regularly and try to eliminate all the bacteria and microorganisms we encounter and carry around on our clothes, skin and hair. We know they can endanger our health so we try our best to get rid of them. But even if we’ve just showered and washed our hair, the belly button is probably still dirty and filled with all kinds of germs and bacteria. That’s because it’s tucked in and the position allows it to become a hotbed for bacteria, sweat, hair, dead skin cells and dirt. This just means that if you don’t know how to clean your belly button you’ll be creating perfect conditions for bacteria growths, terrible smells and even infections.
According to studies, the belly button contains as much as 67 different bacteria in its folds, even if you’ve just showered. Showering is simply not enough, if you want to keep it clean you need to use Q-tips.
So, what is the proper way to clean the belly button?
This is what you need to know to keep this body part clean and germ-free:
Inner belly button folds
Before you take a shower take a Q-tip, soak it in alcohol and clean the folds thoroughly. Afterwards take a shower and while you’re showering dip the Q-tip in a shower gel and clean the belly button again. Then you can rinse it with lukewarm water and pat it dry with a clean towel.
Outer belly button
Take a clean cotton towel and pour some shower gel on it. Clean the belly button with the towel, rinse it with warm water and pat it dry with a towel.
